LAY MINISTERS

Our Parish has at current eight lay ministers who assist in the sacraments of the Parish.  Lay ministers hold different offices and functions, there are Lay Readers, those who can conduct services of Morning or Evening Prayer in the absence of the Parish Priest; and there are Eucharistic Assistants, those who assist at the administration of the Eucharist.  Both groups form the Parish Lay Ministers, and assist the Parish Priest in all functions of the weekly Divine Liturgy.  These people all hold a license from the Bishop of the Diocese to carry out their different duties; they are members of the Diocesan Lay Ministers Association, and have the support of the congregation at Holy Innocents.  The efficient running of the Sunday liturgies is greatly assisted by these work and volunteer roles these individuals carry out.

We are very fortunate to have eight lay ministers in our Parish.  If you wish to find out more about being a lay minister, contact your Parish Priest.
