LOSS OF A LOVED ONE
The Loss of a Loved One is an extremely emotional time in one’s life. The Christian Church has over the centuries developed a liturgy to help us say good-by to our loved ones. While this is not an easy process the liturgy of the church, and the assistance of the funeral home staff helps people deal with the tough decision which must be made at this time. There are many different grief counselling sessions offered throughout the metro St. John’s area which can be availed of, if you do not feel comfortable attending one of these group sessions, talk to your Parish Priest, they are people who can help when the time in tough.

Bereavement
Seminar is a monthly session to assist people who have had a major loss better
understand the grieving process and to learn about the local resources available
to help them on the grief journey. The sessions are held on the third Monday of
each month, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in room 2J619 at
the Health Science Centre. No registration is necessary. Call
the Health Science Centre Pastoral Care office at 777-6959 to find out
more information about the next session.
Bereaved Parent Support Program is a mutual support group of parents who have
experienced the loss of a son or daughter. The group meets every couple of
weeks. For more information call Rod or Desma Churchill at 895-2913 or contact

Bereavement Process Group is a structured eight session program for people who
have experienced the loss of a loved one and feel that they are stalled or
regressing in their grief recovery. For more information on this group please

Survivors of Suicide are a special group for people suffering the unique loss
through suicide. A group will be starting in late January. For more information
