We are now into the second year of paying off the loan which we acquired to do the $50,000.00 worth of work on the church last year. We still need to raise approximately $25,000.00 to pay off the rest of the loan. If you have not yet given to help with this expense, please consider a donation. If you have already pledged and given, we thank you most warmly.
Are you or a family member affected by someone else's drinking? If so, you might like to attend the 25th Al-Anon Convention (with AA participation) on February 8th and 9th at Holiday Inn, St. John's. For further information, please call our office at 722-2666.
The tax receipts for 2007, Lenten Envelope and Letter from the Rector are located downstairs. They are in alphabetic order, please pick up yours prior to the AGM.
The Lavrock Summer Camps are looking for Lifeguards. You have to be at least 16 years of age and minimum requirement of Bronze Medallion. Anyone looking to apply please send resume to the Lavrock Summer Camp Committee, 19 King's Bridge Road, St. John's, NL A1C 3K4.
The ACW has received an invitation to attend an evening of fun and fellowship at All Saints Parish Hall, Foxtrap on Wednesday, February 13th., at 7:30 p.m. Any ladies who wish to attend please let Heather know by Shrove Tuesday as they need to know the number of people attending.
Shrove Tuesday supper will be held on Tuesday, February 5th., starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a limited number of take-out suppers available. If you wish to take-out a meal please sign the sheet on the bulletin board in the lower porch. ACW ladies who are helping with the supper please meet in the hall around 3 p.m. to begin preparation. Those who volunteered to make baked beans please bring them along and others can bring sandwiches or cookies for the lunch after the card game which starts at 8:00 p.m.
World Day of Prayer service will be held at Holy Family Church on Thursday, March 6th., at 7:30 p.m. A social will follow at Holy Family School. All are welcome. For our participation in the service we will need three readers as well as a person to carry the palm fan and a person to distribute the palm crosses. Please let Heather know if you are interested in participating in the service. Those participating in the service will need to be available for a rehearsal on Sunday, March 2nd. at 4 p.m.
